It was a night last summer, we were having dinner at our friends Juan and Laura's place, together with David. One of those evenings of friends, a few beers and some laughs. By then Vanyou was already a reality — Mohawk was ready to travel. Our campervan rental company in Valencia existed. We kept dreaming up things about the van, when suddenly Laura said: "Why don't we record a video? Yes — a video where people keep coming out of the van all dressed up, and it needs a title. Imagine: All your trips fit in Vanyou!" From that moment the laughs and the wild ideas only grew. We promised we'd actually do it, between laugh and laugh and with a beer and some wine in between.
Something of that idea stayed in our heads. Summer passed, autumn began, and what had started as a joke kept gathering momentum. We started thinking it could be a brilliant idea, a great tagline and our first video: All your trips fit in Vanyou!
Now we only had to gather our friends — that is, drag them in once again. Everyone to bring an outfit, preferably related to sports: climbing, cycling, snowboard, windsurf, surf… we wanted to convey one idea: any kind of trip, but especially those related to outdoor sports, fits in Vanyou.
We invited our friends via a Facebook event and at the end of October gathered them under the pretext of recording the video. The chosen location was Llano de Lucas, in Sierra Calderona, very close to Valencia.
We had a great time. We couldn't ask for more — all our friends (or almost all) together. There were memorable performances, talent and brilliant contributions and, above all, very good vibes. We ended the party with a barbecue to refuel.
A day we'll always remember — in the end, there's nothing more rewarding than being able to count on your people when you need them.
