Vanyou's advice

Viaja en Furgo is an independent company in the centre of Asturias that has been renting campers since 2011 and publishes six models for 2 to 4 people from €90/day with VAT. Before booking, confirm the price for your dates (only the “from” prices are published), the cost of extra kilometres (€0.17 or €0.13 depending on the page), the real cost of the airport and station delivery (the Conditions page and the FAQ differ) and the surcharge for pick-up outside free hours. The base is about 35 minutes from the airport, not next to it; the photos are indicative and mostly show the L2 and L3 campers, and the base vehicles and the legal name of the company (the owner appears as Arturo Pérez) are not published.

What's included

Fridge and sink in the campers, and a portable stove with a spare gas cylinder (the L2 and L2 Aire pages also list a fixed induction hob; the L3 page only mentions the portable stove, although the photos show an induction hob), a coffee maker, all the cooking and eating utensils needed and washing-up liquid; the L3 has more worktop space. Outdoor table and chairs are included.
L1 and L1 Cantábrico: 1 to 2 people, with a child bed that can be added. L2 Plus: 1 to 3 people, a main bed a little over 1.90 m long (the longest of the fleet) and a spare child bed in the lounge. L2 and L2 Aire: up to 4 people, with a 125x187 cm bed and a 120x175 cm bunk. L3: up to 4 people, with a 120x187 cm bed and a 120x175 cm bunk (their text says two double beds in a bunk, but the sizes are those). According to their FAQ the vehicles are usually approved to sleep as many people as seats; the number of travel seats of each camper is not published. Bed linen is included only for customers arriving by plane or public transport.
All six campers have an interior shower cabin with hot water; the L1 models, the L2 Plus, the L2, the L2 Aire and the L3 also list a toilet (a chemical WC on the L2 and L3; the L1 and L2 Plus pages just say WC). The L2, L2 Aire and L3 have 90 L clean and grey water tanks. The L3 has the largest bathroom cabin and the L2 a bathroom bigger than usual for that length. The size of the water tanks of the L1 and L2 Plus is not published. You must empty the grey water and clean the chemical toilet before returning the camper (€30 if it is returned dirty).
The L1 models and the L2 Plus have a solar panel for more energy autonomy; the L2 Aire has extra energy autonomy to run its 12 V air conditioner with the engine off. Autonomous heating and hot water in all of them. The size of the auxiliary battery and the 220 V sockets or mains hook-up are not published.
Outdoor table and chairs included in every camper. Optional extras mentioned without a price: bicycles and a satellite navigator. No roof racks, awnings or other outdoor equipment for rentals are mentioned.
Autonomous heating and hot water in all six campers, an interior lounge separate from the beds in the L2, L2 Aire and L3 (and in the L2 Plus, where the bed stays made up while you use the two benches and the table), and, judging by the photos, a roof skylight in several models. The L2 Aire adds a 12 V compressor air conditioner in the living area that can run with the engine off. The L1 models have an interior height of 1.69 m and are 5 m long, 2.25 m high; the L2 and L2 Aire are 5.4 m long and the L3 6 m. Diesel only (no biodiesel). The company points out that these are compact campers with little space for luggage.
Roadside assistance and fully comprehensive insurance with a €600 excess per claim are included; the basic insurance does not cover travel outside Spain (an extra must be requested). They recommend a travel and holiday insurance for your belongings. They offer personal advice before the trip (send them your route, number of people and kilometres to get a tailored quote), and the team is available during the rental. Optional extras mentioned without a price: bicycles, satellite navigation and child seats.
